<description>Personally I think morning stand up are quite important, we also go into a tangents sometimes about details on development. (You know the tech detail of design what was cool and recent new stuff etc etc)

But this is more of a model that we use for the 15 mins as everyone does and leave #3 for later if its a long discussion.

1) What did I worked on yesterday?
2) What will I be working on today?
3) Are there any obstacles?

Also we find using post-it notes super helpful, its quite visible to the PM so that s/he knows what is going on etc rather than s/he going into Team System to find it. It gives a very visual representation and also allows the team to have stand up in front of it. By doing so it flag to the team if any of the items are red maybe someone else can come in and help, strongly recommend to try it out.

Some other short read you might be interested on scrum.
