@dirk: I don't agree. TDD doesn't mean write code twice just to get it to work. TDD drives your design, and ensures quality even after building features with it's constant feedback when fixing bugs or refactoring afterwards. I really recommend you to try it out. I'm sure you'll change your mind.
And I'm thinking you haven't been refactoring shitty legacy applications without tests. That's when I started to see the value of TDD ;-)

Thanks for the intro to the subject. TDD by example sounds like a worthy (and digestible) item on the bookshelf.

Developers are paid to think abstractly and build what they are asked to build.

I you dont know how to do that without TDD, you are probably not very experienced.

THe biggest problem facing developers is first their own lack of experience, and second the lack of solid requirements.

TDD is a self referential excersise that your employer doesnt care about and does not want to pay for.

If you need to code something twice first as tests and second as implementation to deliver solid code then you will never succeed.

I am also new to TDD and still learning about it. And my xUnit Test patterns book in on the way (I guess I will have it within 2 weeks) so, don't worry you are not alone in learning TDD, I am also with you :)
